Free seminar on Linked Data and Libraries in the Carlos III University of Madrid

The PhD program in documentation organized a seminar and a workshop with Professor Stefan Gradmann the next 11 and July 12, 2013 in open session tomorrow 10 14:00. The seminar will have two major events: "From Records to Graphs: Linked Data and Libraries" and "Linked Data Scholarship: Modeling and Interpretation in the Digital Humanities" and the workshop, which took place on Friday 12 will be on "Semantic Annotations (Pundit) ".

Stefan Gradmann is Professor of Library and Information Science in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Louvain where he also serves as the director of the Central Library. His research interest and main focus in the field of digital humanities, digital libraries and knowledge management based on semantic technologies. He has participated in several European projects related to digital libraries and especially with Europeana. He has also taught at the Humboldt University in Berlin and president of DGI, the German Society for Documentation and Information Practice (Deutschen Gesellschaft für und Informationswissenschaft Informationspraxis).

Registration is free but mandatory, places are limited (40) and preference will be given to students and alumni masters, and doctoral degree courses last UC3M and sessions are conducted in English in the classroom 14.0.11 (Thursday) and 14.0.02 (Friday) at the Faculty of Humanities, Communication and Documentation Getafe campus.
